I am a freelance harpsichordist and pianist. I also work as a teacher, performance coach and therapist in diverse musical, educational and therapeutic settings.
I have worked as a musician for all of my professional career. I have first-hand experience of the problems musicians face professionally and personally.
I work with young people as well as adults at all stages. Though the focus of my work has been on musicians and those working in the Arts I work with many clients who need help with performance related issues or simply dealing better with pressure.
I draw from different therapeutic approaches and work in a calm, supportive and non judgemental way. I offer strategies to help people understand and change obstructive thinking patterns. I love helping people dismantle limiting beliefs about themselves and work to remove barriers preventing them from living the life they want to lead or being the musician or the person they want to be.
My professional background includes work with Barnardo’s, Action For Children, pupil referral units where I was helping young adults who had fallen through the cracks at school. I have been a visiting coach at the Royal College of Music and Trinity Laban. More recently I worked for Anxiety UK and am currently in private practice and linked to music specific services. Over thirty years of fruitful collaboration with all ages and abilities has given me an understanding of the effort, dedication and partnership necessary to make critical steps forward, in art and in life.
