Life can be a real struggle — when coping turns into exhaustion, over-giving, or withdrawing, it doesn’t just affect you, it also shapes your relationships, leaving you misunderstood, unsure, or emotionally distant.
I work with emotional and behavioural patterns that affect personal or professional relationships, wellbeing, and confidence. Many struggles stem from internalised high standards, shaky self-worth, and a nervous system locked in high alert. Therapy focuses on understanding what maintains these cycles now, using the past where it adds insight, then turning clarity into practical, relational change.
Core themes:
Relationships & Connection: Wanting intimacy, security, or collaboration while wrestling with doubt or discomfort with commitment. Early excitement can shift to uncertainty — questioning someone’s investment or pulling away instinctively to self-protect. Therapy explores the beliefs and fears beneath these cycles, helping you build relationships at home and at work that feel mutual and fulfilling.
Perfectionism & Inner Criticism: Holding yourself (and others) to unrelenting standards, analysing and trying harder, yet still landing in “not enough.” These patterns may once have driven achievement or relational attunement, but now fuel anxiety and self-doubt. We work on softening the edges of the internal voice and rebuilding trust in progress over perfection.
Anxiety, Control & Over-Responsibility: Feeling compelled to carry emotional weight, manage outcomes, or pre-empt others’ needs, driven by the fear that loosening control invites danger. This often swings into exhaustion or impulsive escape, followed by guilt or relational retreat. Therapy helps you build regulation and shared trust, reducing the need to hold everything together solo.
Together we will develop relational confidence, restoring emotional energy and self-trust at a pace that suits you. Sessions are collaborative, reflective, and practical, focused on developing lasting change.
